Job Overview:
As a Technical Associate at USP, you will play a crucial role in the Promoting the Quality of Medicines Plus (PQM+) program, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The program aims to enhance the quality assurance systems for medical products in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Technical Associate Jobs in USA
Reporting to the PQM+ CMC and Vaccines Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and updating management tools, checklists, and procedures to ensure the timeliness and quality of technical activities.
- Monitoring program deliverables and providing support where needed.
- Coordinating technical staff meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and following up on action items.
- Assisting in drafting and reviewing technical documents, conducting reviews and assessments, and preparing reports.
- Supporting the development of technical review plans and ensuring the quality of PQM+ products.
- Participating in meetings and identifying opportunities for technical team support.
- Collaborating with other technical associates and finance teams on coverage reports.
- Compiling and updating presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Assisting with travel and event planning.
- Tracking procurement, contract, and hiring processes related to technical operations.
Qualifications:
To be a successful candidate, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, global health, international development, biotechnology).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical or programmatic support of global health or pharmaceutical programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Preferences: USP values candidates with the following qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Over 2 years of experience in technical or programmatic support of global health or pharmaceutical programs.
- Comfortable working with internal and external professionals.
- Prior international work experience.
- Ability to support multiple projects in a timely manner.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office programs, MS Project, or similar).
- Awareness of pharmaceutical management in Global Health is beneficial.
